Lately, family dinners at our house have looked a little different. Between carpools, practices, and the general chaos of weeknights, we’ve had more cereal-at-9-p.m. moments than candlelit meals.
Somewhere in that whirlwind, I found myself painting lemons in blue and white porcelain — a classic bowl of fruit often placed at the center of a table — and it started to feel symbolic.
The lemons became a stand-in for the moments we do manage to gather — bright, fleeting, full of life. The porcelain reminded me of tradition and all the rituals that make home feel like home. Together, they told a story of finding beauty in the in-between: the quick dinners, the half-finished conversations, the laughter between bites.
This collection is a love letter to those small, imperfect, beautiful, joyful moments that make up our lives.
